Can I travel on a European passport?
Yes you can. However when completing the contracts you will need to supply globalCARS.com.au with a letter outlining your intentions to travel, dates of return and a copy of an invoice being phone, water or electricity bill stating your current address. You must not reside in the EU and you must have been in Australia for more then 6 months.
Why do I have to give my credit card and bank account details on the contract?
Peugeot require these details to ensure the vehicle is returned or if you wish to purchase the vehicle. The euro amount on the contract (Promissory Note) is the value of the vehicle at the end of your lease. This is the amount that will be charged if the vehicle is not returned within 7 days from the organised return date. Once you obtain the official receipt for return by Peugeot this section is null and void.
What do I need to collect my vehicle?
Upon pick up you will need to provide the pre paid voucher from globalCARS and your passport.
Can my friend or relative collect the vehicle for me?
No. The registered driver (the client that completed the forms), must collect and return the vehicle as there are forms to be completed.
Do I need to leave a deposit when I arrive or pay for any extras?
No. Once you have paid globalCARS you will be given a prepaid voucher, this will cover you for your lease and there are no extra’s to pay other than toll, highway charges or fuel. There is no deposit required or credit card imprints taken.
How much fuel is provided and do I need to return the vehicle full?
The vehicle will be delivered with between 10-15 litres of fuel, which in most cases is enough to get out of the city or on your way. You are not required to return the vehicle full and there are no charges in doing this.
Will I receive a right hand drive vehicle if I collect in the UK?
Only if you pay the UK RHD Special Rate. All cars originate from Europe therefore are made to European specifications.
Can I have additional drivers and is there a fee?
Yes you are able to have additional drivers and there is no additional fee, however there are restrictions as follows. All additional drivers must fit the requirements of the program and the registered driver must be in the vehicle at all times. Exception is immediate family members - Spouse, son or daughter who has the same surname and residential address as the registered driver. They may drive locally without the registered driver but under no circumstances can the family member take the vehicle across any borders or for lengthy periods without the registered driver in the car.
If I take my vehicle on a ferry will I be covered by insurance?
Yes. You are covered by full comprehensive insurance* and are covered in both the UK and Ireland. Ferry crossing fees are not included in the costs; these will need to be prepaid. Let us know if you are interested in this as we can help.
Is a diesel model better to have then a petrol model?
The price for diesel is approximately 20-30% cheaper than petrol in most European countries. Therefore we recommend if you plan on doing a reasonable amount of driving it may be more economical to pay the extra and take a diesel model.
Can I upgrade my car on arrival or request accessories?
No. Therefore it is vital you choose the correct vehicle and accessories prior. Please feel free to visit any Peugeot Dealer in Australia and take your luggage to ensure you are comfortable and happy with your choice.
If I want to extend or change the details of my lease whilst I’m overseas, can I do this through my Australian Travel Agent?
No. Extensions or changes are possible however you will need to contact Peugeot Sodexa direct and arrange this with them. All costs will be in Euro and current taxes applied.
What happens if my vehicle is stolen or I have an accident?
Detailed information will be given to you in your final documentation, however it is relatively simple. You need to follow the same procedure as you would at home. Contact the police, fill out an accident report form and fax the document to Peugeot. In the event of your vehicle being stolen once you have notified Peugeot, the promissory note amount will not be invoked.
If I have to return earlier for any reason can I do this, and am I entitled for a refund?
Yes, please make sure you contact the representative prior to organise the return. A partial refund may be issued to client who had an initial lease for more than 35 days and who returned more than 7 days prior to the organised date.
Do Peugeot offer Tow Bars as an accessory?
No. Peugeot do not offer these however Peugeot do allow tow bars to be fitted at a Peugeot Garage whilst you are in Europe, with the following conditions:
You must organise and pay for it yourself.
Your car insurance policy does NOT include cover for your trailer.
You must arrange your own insurance for the trailer.
The requirement of a tow bar, whether known by us or not, does not form part of any contract between Peugeot Sodexa and you (the client). It is entirely your responsibility to organise and make yourself aware of any legal or otherwise requirements relating to the tow bar itself or anything associated with it.
Do Peugeot offer Winter Tyres or Snow Chains as an accessory?
Peugeot Vehicles are delivered with "STANDARD TYRES " regardless of the location or time of year.
The assembly-line tires originally fitted to Peugeot vehicles when they leave the factory are multipurpose "STANDARD TYRES ". This means that they are suitable for varied driving conditions, which however excludes extreme conditions such as the presence of large volumes of snow or water on the roadway.
It is the clients responsibility to purchase the appropriate 'winter tyres' whilst overseas and have them fitted and removed at a authorised Peugeot Dealer. Snow chains can be prepaid with globalCARS prior to departure and supplied by Peugeot Sodexa at time of collection, however they are not suitable for highway driving.
The snow chains are effective and safe. They give comfortable use since the spider system avoids unpleasant jolts when driving. The chains are delivered in a case which can be stored easily and also includes a assembly instruction card and a pair of protective gloves for assembly. It is vital that you check the tension of the chains after a short journey, and to re-stretch them if necessary. This operation must be repeated regularly in the case of prolonged use.

The Tour de France came to England for the first time in 1974, with a stage in Plymouth (1. Poppe). Twenty years later, in 1994, the caravan this time took the Chunnel to reach Dover for a stage to Brighton (1. Cabello), then Portsmouth (1. Minali)
The Tour will be crossing the Channel for the third time in 2007 where it will be taking to the roads in the south of England and featuring a historic, first-time start from Great Britain: Prologue in London, first stage London-Canterbury. |
| On the 7th of July 2007, the Tour will be launched from London for a Start which will be a landmark event: the influence and the prestige of the British capital along with the enthusiasm and the commitment of our English hosts already makes this a certainty. |
